DON NICOLSON ORIGINAL ACOUSTIC SINGER/SONGWRITER

Don Nicolson was born into a large, musical family in Dundee, Scotland. He began playing guitar at an early age and has been writing his own material and playing his own version of various covers around the circuit for the last seven or eight years. He was crowned Songwriter Of The Year at Dougie MacLean’s prestigious Perthshire Amber Festival in 2006 where he shared the stage twice with the great man himself.
He was also requested to sing with Maggie Riley while playing in Dublin, and he has supported Journey South and Coast.
In 2008, Don was runner up in the BBC3 TV You Tube show, Upstaged where he kept the majority of votes throughout the competition and was eventually pipped to the post by The Vloggers, in a result surrounded by controversy.
Don writes and sings from the heart and soul and is driven by his life, family and experiences. His heartfelt lyrics and well-written melodies appeal to both young and old alike. His prescence on stage comes over as warm, friendly and professional. Fan interaction is very important to Don and he returns the support he gains from his fans. He recently returned from an event in Germany where he wowed the crowd and gained a whole new set of fans through his association with Schotten Radio. (www.schottenradio.de)
Now based in Crieff, Perthshire, Scotland, Don is available for gigs, festivals, private functions, media events, radio and TV.

Don recently supported Celtic Rockers, Coast in Glasgow where he gained a host of new fans, both in the
UK and abroad. He also played a four-day stint by invitation, at the St Andrew's PGA Golf Open where he
was very well received.
